''Iris formosana'' is a species in the genus ''Iris'', it is also in the subgenus of ''Limniris'' and ''Lophiris'' section. It is a rhizomatous perennial plant, from Taiwan, it has large white or lilac flowers. It is commonly known as the 'Taiwan Iris'.
